Responsibilities of the Position Include:
  • Preparing trial balances, year-end adjusting and tax entries
  • Preparing federal and state tax returns for all entity types
  • Preparing compiled and reviewed financial statements
  • Researching tax questions and drafting tax memorandum of tax positions
  • Responding to notices from tax authorities
  • Developing and advising clients on tax strategies and business process improvements
  • Meeting and communicating with clients to discuss various tax and accounting needs
  • Develop and sustain strong client relationships     
Basic Requirements Needed:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a public accounting (CPA) firm or other tax preparation firm
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing tax returns:  1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041, etc.
  • Acute attention to detail and precision
  • Experience using tax preparation, accounting and fixed asset software 
  • Proficiency using Excel and Word 
Enhanced Qualifications Beneficial:
  • Master of Business Administration or Master of Accountancy degree
  • 4-5 years’ experience working in public accounting (CPA) firm
  • Proficient in S-corporation and partnership taxation and state income taxes for multi-state filers
  • Proficient using tax, accounting and fixed asset software supported by Thompson-Reuters Creative Solutions
  • Proficiency using QuickBooks desktop and QuickBooks online accounting software
